Traditional Medicinals
Knights’ Electric’s commercial department is in the process of installing a new electrical power service for Traditional Medicinals. The new 2,000-amp, 277/480volt electrical service panel will accommodate the existing warehouse building, a possible future building and a newly installed 500kw rooftop solar voltaic system.

The new electrical service has been designed to include two automatic transfer switches for both the plant electrical system and a 75 horse power electric fire-pump. A future 600-amp, 277/480-volt backup generator will provide emergency power. |
Knights’ Electric has installed the PG&E substructures and facilities including the trenching and underground conduit, utility transformer and cabling, as well as natural gas piping. “This saves time and money for the client”, says Art Knight, Vice President & Commercial Manager for Knights’ Electric. This process also included utility electrical and gas design drawings for the installation. |

Knights’ Electric competed against PG&E to provide and install PG&E’s facilities that include the transformer, cabling and terminations, plus gas piping and terminations. “Deregulation has made this process possible. It is also helping Traditional Medicinals meet their scheduled start up date for the solar component of the project. The solar work has to be completed by the end of the year to receive their rebates.” |
